By Aki Inomata, quite literally taking the hermit crabs ability for carrying their home on their back, the Japanese artist crafts architecturally inspired shells from plastic for the crabs, with miniature cities on them. I think another fantastic aspect is the transparency, how you can see the anatomy of the crab even when they withdraw is just fascinating.

Exquisite.

I made this mix on @8tracks: Soundtrack for writing. Check it out.
The story starts with a summer storm, somebody is walking on the street, with no umbrella. The streets are empty, as people are trying to find shelter.
The guy we followed enters a coffeehouse. The first song continues in the background. For more effect, imagine the action is taking place somewhere in Italy.
He orders a coffee, and lights a cigarette. Pulls out a book from his bag, starts reading. At this point, someone sits at his table. What happens next? You decide.

"Iceland is experiencing a book boom. This island nation of just over 300,000 people has more writers, more books published and more books read, per head, than anywhere else in the world. There is a phrase in Icelandic, ‘ad ganga med bok I maganum’, everyone gives birth to a book… One in 10 Icelanders will publish one.”

Quote
"Try to imagine a life without timekeeping. You probably can’t. You know the month, the year, the day of the week. There is a clock on your wall or the dashboard of your car. You have a schedule, a calendar, a time for dinner or a movie. Yet all around you, timekeeping is ignored. Birds are not late. A dog does not check its watch. Deer do not fret over passing birthdays. Man alone measures time. Man alone chimes the hour. And, because of this, man alone suffers a paralyzing fear that no other creature endures. A fear of time running out."

Mitch Albom, The Time Keeper
